The blog title… 題名について．．．

“A manga addict.”

…It came to me in a flash. It was perfect. If anyone is a manga addict it’s me. I love reading them, I love creating them…
…but it’s more than that…

I mean, there are many people all over the globe who enjoy creating and reading manga. They lead happy, healthy, fulfilling lives. They call themselves fans or Otaku,… maybe even, geeks…
…but for me it’s not that simple…
…you see, I really am addicted.

If I’m not reading or creating manga I go through withdraw… I‘m inpatient, irritable. At best everything just seems like a waist of time. But at worst, everything becomes an obstacle standing in the way of me and my next fix.
I need it.

I need to escape into another place:
A place where you can explore the depths of space, with out having to worry about an oxygen tank, or distances physically impossible to traverse…
A place where you can be shot but not bleed…
A place where magic is real (more than just a parlor tricks)…
A place where you can see things that you can’t imagine…

...that’s where I need to be.

That’s why (it may not be the most positive of titles but) I’m…

…ぱっと思いついた。完璧だ。漫画の依存症患者(あるいは愛好者)という人間がいるとすれば、それは僕だ。
もちろん、漫画を読むのも、描くのも大好きなんだけど…
でも、それ以上に…

世界中に、そういう人は多少いると思うのだけど…
その人は健康で幸せな豊かな暮らしをしているみたい。｢ファン｣とか「おたく」とか呼ばれているけど、僕の場合は、そんなに簡単には済まされない。本当に依存症患者だ。

例えば、漫画を読めなくて描けなかったら禁断症状が出てくる。いらいらして落ち着かなくなる。

…どうしても必要。

ほかの場所に行く必要がある：
…宇宙の奥に行っても呼吸ができる場所
…撃たれても血が出ない場所
…魔法が実際に存在している場所
…想像できないものが見える場所

そのような場所に常にいないといけない。

だから僕は本当に…
